Highlights : This isbasically a botanical trek and for those who love nature. Spring  is arguably the most beautiful time of theyear. At the height of spring which is end of March, the whole valley comes tolife with flaming red, pink and white rhododendron blossom. In moonsoondifferent varities of mushroom can be found along the trail including theSangay (mustakhay) mushroom which is exported to Japan.  The route takes you through Yak herderscamps, villages, monasteries and countless lakes. The snowcapped peaks can bebest viewed in winter.


Day 01 : Arrive by Druk Air,the only national carrier. The flight offers you beautiful mountain andlandscape. On arrival and after visa formalities you will be received by ITTmembers. Afternoon / evening time at leisure. Overnight Kichu Resort.


Day 02 : Paro Sightseeing -visit the ruined fortress of Drugyel dzong which still attracts visitors due tothe strategic location of the fort. The fort defended the Paro valley fromthe  Tibetan invasion from the north inthe early 17th century. On clear weather Mount Chomolhari 7320 meters can beseen towering over the dzong. Proceed through the beautiful valley to the watchtower or locally known as Ta-Dzong. It was housed into the National museum inthe 1960s by the third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. The seven floors museumhighlights various aspects of Bhutanese culture and history dating back to the7th century. A short walk downhill to the Rinpung Dzong which serves as the administrativecenter and school for monks. Walk further down crossing the traditional bridgeinto Paro Town. Stroll around the market and return to Kichu Resort.


Day 03 : Drive to Thimphu(2hrs).  Upon arrival check into Hotel Riverview or similar.  Sightseeing - Visit theMemorial chorten built in the memory of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, 15century Changangkha monastery, Motithang mini zoo to see the rare"Takin" national animal of Bhutan and drive further down with goodview of the Thimphu valley. Visit the new Drupthob nunnery temple and free timein the market.


Day 04 : Drive 45 minutes tothe starting point of the trek. The first day of walking goes along the kacharoad for 3 hours till you arrive at a sign board of Genekha school. All throughthe trail ascend through terraced fields and coniferous vegetation are abundant.Camp at Genekha at 2800 meters. Walking time 4/5 hours.


Day 05 : Genekha to Gur. Thecommunion with nature starts with alpine flora and fauna (birds are comman).The two hours of uphill walk and rest at a huge rock platform offering apicturesque view of the valley below. The camp is located in the heart of the woodsideal for afternoon stroll. Flowers are abundant in spring. Camp at 3350meters. Walkng time 4/5 hours.


Day 06 : Gur to Labatama.Walking across the ridge offers beautiful view of the rugged mountainvegetation. During spring the  meadows arefilled with flowers. From the pass one can see spectacular view of the Dagalarange. Camp at  4300 meters near a lakefilled with golden trouts. Walking time 6/7 hours.


Day 07 : Labatama halt. Thisis an ideal day for excursion to the three lakes namely Relitso, Hentso andJamatso. Trout fishing can add delicacy to your meal in this wild countryside  (please bring own fishingequipments). If you are still fit to do trekking you can attempt climbing theJomo peak which is 5050 meters. The view from the top will be memorable for alife time.


Day 08 : Labatama to Panka.30 minutes uphill and a majestic view of the Himalays during the descent. Yourguide will identify the peaks for you. Passing through meadows, shrubs andlakes you will camp at 4000 meters. Walking time 4/5 hours.


Day 09 : Panka to Talikha.This day entails the crossing of several passes each one more impressive thanthe other. Look out for different varieties fo Blue poppy (national flower)during the month of June & July.  Anhours climb after lunch brings you to the end of Dagala range and you can enjoythe view of Thimphu valley below. An hour walk down hill brings you to yourcamp at 3050 meters. Walking time 6/7 hours.


Day 10 : Talikha toSimtokha. Passing through alpine and mixed vegetation one reaches Talikhavillage. The trail descends passing through apple orchards till you reach the main motarable road to Thimphuwhere your transport awaits. Walking time 3/4 hours. Drive to Thimphu.Overnight at Hotel.


Day 11 : Drive 3 hours toWangduephodrang crossing the Dochula pass 3100 meters. On fine

weather you will see theeastern Himalayan ranges including the highest mountain in Bhutan Mt.GangarPunsum 7520 meters. The drive from the pass is all the way downhill dropping tothe lower and warmer valleys of lobesa. Visit the market area. Overnight atWangdi Kichu Resort.


Day 12 : AM drive 45 minutesto Punakha and visit the Punakha Dzong which served as an

old capital of Bhutan. Thisremarkable fortress is built between two rivers and has survived many glacialfloods and fire. Every year during the month of February a procession known asthe Punakha Serda takes place to commemorate the victory over the Tibetans. PMdrive back to Paro. Overnight Kichu Resort.  


Day 13 : Transfer to airport for departure.
