DAY 01        ARRIVAL AT PHUNTSHOLING      (298Mts / 977Fts)

Meet & Greet upon arrival at Phuntsholing (298Mts / 977Fts), a small town at the Indo-Bhutan border. Overnight at Hotel


DAY 02        PHUNTSHOLING – THIMPHU        (178 KMS / 06 HRS, 2134Mts /7000Fts)

Afterbreakfast drive to Thimphu (178 KMS / 06 HRS,2134Mts /7000Fts), the modern capital of Bhutan which lies at an elevation of 2300m in avalley traversed by the Wang Chu (river). Although not what one expects from a capital city, Thimphu is a fittingand lively place. Home to civil servants, expatriates and the monk body,Thimphu maintains a strong national character in its architectural style. It isalso an ideal spot for day walks. Overnight at Hotel


DAY 03        THIMPHU

Afterbreakfast go for morning sightseeing - visit the Indigenous hospital where traditional old art of healing is stillpracticed, Art & Craft school, National library, Royal goldsmith workshopand Handicraft centers. Afternoon visit the Memorial chorten built in thememory of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, 15 century Changangkhamonastery, Motithang mini zoo to see the rare "Takin" national animalof Bhutan and drive further down with good view of the Thimphu valley. Visitthe new Drupthob nunnery temple and free time in the market. Overnight at Hotel


DAY 04        THIMPHU – WANGDI         (70 KMS / 03 HRS, 1350Mts /4430Fts)         

Afterbreakfast drive to Wangduephodrang (70 KMS / 03 HRS,1350Mts /4430Fts)via Punakha crossing the Dochula pass 3100 meters. On fine weather youwill see the eastern Himalayan ranges including the highest mountain in BhutanMt.Gangar Punsum 7520 meters. The drive from the pass is all the way downhilldropping to the lower and warmer valleys of lobesa. Visit the Punakha Dzongwhich served as an old capital of Bhutan. This remarkable fortress is builtbetween two rivers and has survived many glacial floods and fire. Every yearduring the month of February a procession known as the Punakha Serda takesplace to commemorate the victory

over the Tibetans. Proceed 45 minutes toWangduephodrang and view the Dzong from outside and stroll around the marketarea. Overnight at Hotel 


DAY 05        WANGDI – BHUMTHANG    (197KMS / 08 HRS, 2477Mts /8125Fts)                 

Afterbreakfast drive to Bumthang (197 KMS / 08 HRS, 2477Mts/8125Fts) crossing 3 passesover 3000 meters. The route offers magnificent views of the Himalayas and beautifullandscape through scattered hamlets and forest of rhododendrons and pine. After one and half HRS from Chendebji Chorten arrive at a small town knownas Trongsa meaning new village. The town mainly consists of fresh Tibetanrefugees but the most impressive of all is the Trongsa Dzong. The whole ofeastern Bhutan was controlled from this fortress during the mid 17th century.Visitors are not allowed inside the building. Proceed another 2 HRS to Bumthangvisiting the Chume weaving center. Overnight at Hotel



Afterbreakfast go for Bumthang sightseeing which has an individuality that charms its visitorsand separates it from other regions. Comprised of four smaller valleys, thedeeply spiritual region of Bumthang is shrouded in religious legend. Here talesof Guru Padmasambhava and his re-incarnation known as Tertons still linger inmost nooks and corners. It is also known for its woolen material (yathra) whichcan be seen hung outside of houses for sale. Sightseeing - Visit the Jakar Dzong,7TH century Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjey monastery, Tamshing andKunchosum monastery. This sightseeing is a round trip so it is more interestingdone on foot. Overnight at Hotel 


DAY 07        BHUMTHANG – WANGDI    (197KMS / 08 HRS, 1350Mts /4430Fts).

DAY 08        WANGDI – PARO     (150 KMS / 05 HRS, 2134Mts /7000Fts)                          

Afterbreakfast drive to Paro (150 KMS / 05 HRS, 2134Mts /7000Fts) via Lobesa and a short walk through farm houses and fields to ChimmeLhakhang. This monastery was built in the 15 century and dedicated to thefamous Lam Drukpa Kunley or divine mad man. He is one of the most famous saintsin Bhutan and his temple is visited mostly by childless couples.  Lunch at Thimphu and drive to Paro visitingthe oldest building in Bhutan, the Simtokha Dzong. It now serves as a Buddhistuniversity.  Overnight at Hotel


DAY 09        PARO 

Afterbreakfast go for Paro Sightseeing - visit the ruined fortress of Drugyel dzong whichstill attracts visitors due to the strategic location of the fort. The fortdefended the Paro valley from the Tibetan invasion from the north in the early17th century. On clear weather Mount Chomolhari 7320 meters can be seentowering over the dzong. Proceed through the beautiful valley to the watchtower or locally known as Ta-Dzong. It was housed into the National Museum inthe 1960s by the third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. The seven floors museumhighlights various aspects of Bhutanese culture and history dating back to the7th century.  A short walk downhill tothe Rinpung Dzong which serves as the administrative center and school formonks.  Walk further down crossing thetraditional bridge into Paro Town. Overnight at Hotel   



After breakfast transfer to the airport for departure.
